Is Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Going to Demand 100+ Hours of Playtime?

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been collecting all the attention in recent times. This hype has increased tenfold thanks to the recent previews that have been released to the public. Despite praising this game, critics are finding it hard to get over it.

They cannot stop praising the freedom and the amount of depth that this game offers. It appears Nintendo has yet again created an open world like no other!

Would Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom be as expansive as its predecessor?

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is still unmatched in the amount of freedom that it offers its fans. Its go anywhere, do anything approach has given some fans living nightmares. Not because it’s anything bad; but because they get so involved in exploring these areas that they ignore the main story altogether. This causes them to spend hours playing the game without making any progress story-wise.

It’s a very positive thing for a game to have so much to offer that fans just keep coming back. But one must wonder, “What is more important?” Completing the story or the fun that comes with exploring such an intriguing world.

From the looks of it, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is shaping up to be a similar attraction. The game has everything that its predecessor had and then some. In fact, some have said that its Ultrahand ability is such that fans would find themselves just creating new things using it for hours and hours.

The trailers have already proven that Nintendo has made a lot of additions to this game. New characters, new abilities, and what appears to be an even more expansive story than its predecessor. Ganon is finally in his true form, and the series seems to be back to its time-traveling roots; everything seems to be in place.

So one must ask, with so much on offer—a world that’s even larger than the last one, abilities that players would not get tired of, and a story that is just too big—how long would this game take to complete?

There have been reports of people playing Breath of the Wild for not hundreds but thousands of hours. Let’s hope this game also comes with substance and does not just get stuck on size.
