A couple of days ago, xQc was banned on Twitch for the fifth time. The reason for the ban remains unclear, but in a recent stream, xQc spoke about the ban and took a strong stance against misreporting. Misreporting is unethical in many ways and can often facilitate the distortion of facts, which could lead to false narratives. And xQc has made it pretty clear that he isn’t having any of it.

xQc claims “It really wasn’t a ban. It was just how it is.” And he didn’t provide any answers to help people unravel the mystery around his ban. But he did talk about misreporting, and that might be the cause behind his ban.

xQc isn’t the biggest fan of misreporting

xQc is undoubtedly one of the most popular people in the world of streaming. He has amassed millions of followers over time. And as time moves forward, he’s only going to get more popular. While popularity is great and all, it also has some downsides. For instance, xQc can be the subject of misreporting.

Whenever something happens and I say something and somebody has their take on it or they say it a certain way or something and they kind of misreport it,” the popular Twitch streamer says, showing his viewers how easy it is to be misconstrued, before proceeding to talk about the effects of misreporting.

He also talks about how people don’t always know what they’re reading and that they believe the words they’re reading to be true. And xQc makes a good point here. It is indeed true that not everyone has insider information. It is also true that people often don’t know any better. And xQc feels the way people can be manipulated easily through misreporting to not be a very good thing. “That’s really, really bad,” he says, referring to the effects of misreporting.

There’s hardly anybody who’d speak in favor of misreporting, and it’s widely considered a huge problem. xQc acknowledges the problem and maybe it is the very problem of misreporting that was behind his ban.

An unquenchable thirst to learn about all things eSports, a rather unhealthy obsession with playing video games, and an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the gaming industry make him a video game aficionado. He still fondly remembers his first game, which would pave the way for thousands more, released way back in 2001 by Bungie. The name of the game was Ao Oni and it bore a significant resemblance to the anime movie Ghost in the Shell. More recently, Soumyadyuti has found himself enjoying various titles like Call of Duty Mobile, Doom, Counter-Strike, and PUBG. His hobbies include playing the guitar and reading.
