Microsoft is finally testing the brand new 4K dashboard for Xbox Series X. The highly anticipated graphic boost is here and there’s a lot to talk about. It upgrades the UI dashboard from 1080p to whooping 4K. It ensures high quality and stable build for all the Xbox Series X consoles. However, the new and improved update is currently only available to Xbox insiders.
Of course, the console can run games at 4K 60fps with real-time ray tracing capability. All the Xbox Series X owners who use 4K tv for gaming will benefit most from this boost. The update will bring much higher resolution, text readability as well as sharpness. So get ready to experience the best display quality.
In an official blog post, the testing team of Microsoft gave a rundown on all the key details of the updates. ”With today’s update, Alpha Skin-Ahead Insider on Xbox Series X console connected to a 4K display can begin fighting an increasing resolution UI. This change means Home, Guide, and other areas of the UI will be displayed in a higher native resolution for increased sharpness and text readability.” says the testing team of Microsoft Xbox.

Well, there is no official information on whether Xbox Series S will also get this boost or not. The blog post doesn’t give any hints about the up-gradation of the Xbox Series S yet. Although it can be upgraded to a 4K display, right now it targets 1440p. It is definitely possible that the Series S will also get this incredible treatment in the future soon. It has just started the testing for Xbox Series X, so it makes sense to focus on Series X first before jumping to other consoles.
Meanwhile, Xbox is also testing its Dark Mode feature. Basically, now players will be able to dim the LED light of the wireless controller to improve the night gaming experience. It also comes with an optional blue light to reduce all the strain on the eyes, filtering the screen brightness for late-night gaming sessions with friends.
