Nintendo launched the Switch console’s upgraded version, Switch OLED in 2021. And undoubtedly, the fans liked it. However, for a while, some fans have been facing some serious battery issues. Speaking of, Switch OLED is significantly draining battery without even being used. Moreover, the console’s battery life isn’t even able to last in standby and sleep mode as well.

Concerned by the issue, many are worried assuming there’s something wrong with the device. Some might believe it’s minimized games running in the background draining power. But relax, none is true and your device is all good. The issue lies within the backend of Switch Online service.
How to fix Nintendo Switch OLED’s severe battery draining issue
The solution is super simple and fans just need to turn off the “Platinum Point Notification” for their every single profile and that’s all. The issue is fixed. For the context, here are steps to disable it in your Switch OLED:
- Open “System Settings”
- Scroll down and select “Notifications”
- Tap on “Platinum Point Notification” and turn it off

There’s one thing to note: all profiles on Switch OLED have this notification on by default. So, fans must disable the option on every single profile to fix this issue. And ignore this if you have just one profile.
This fix is guaranteed to solve the OLED’s battery draining issue. And if the problem still exists, then there’s something faulty within the device.

According to him, what caused the issue was Nintendo Switch Online’s upgrades related to mission and rewards in order to make the service more appealing. No doubt it’s a pleasant feature, but that’s what caused the issue.
