Nintendo Switch Leak Suggests a Classic’s Return; Game Sales and Fan-Made UI

Nintendo Switch owners have an exciting couple of days ahead. Nintendo earlier this week revealed a star-studded line-up of games for September. There have also been rumors surrounding the upcoming OLED version of the console.

But there’s more. Insiders have suggested the console could soon introduce a new UI design along with news of a remastered version of a top-selling game coming to the platform.

Nintendo Switch: Welcoming a Revamped Classic

The latest edition by the Remedy, Alan Wake Remastered, was unveiled earlier this month in the PlayStation Showcase 2021. Fans initially expected the title to release on PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S but it seems like there has been a change of hearts.

Bungie to Introduce Much-Needed Destiny 2 Matchmaking Feature to Level the Playing Field

Although there has been no official word from the title’s publisher, Epic Games, the chances of the game coming to Switch are quite high. Alan Wake Remastered for registered by the Ministry of Justice, Brazil according to the well-renowned Nintendo dedicated channel, Nintendo Prime. It also received a “not recommended for children under 14 (fourteen) years old” rating by the organization for Switch, along with other consoles.

A third-party title receiving a rating without confirmation is usually announced at Nintendo Direct events. The month of September is usually the time when the devs announce long-awaited updates via the event. Unfortunately, there’s no news of the official dates for the Direct event.

Game sales for Switch owners to take advantage of

Publisher of some of the most popular games, THQ Nordic is celebrating its 10th anniversary and they’re feeling generous. Nordic is offering up to 70% off on some of their titles in light of the event on their website and other stores for Switch owners. The sale started on September 16, 2021, at 09:00 am PT and ends on September 29, 2021, at 11:59 pm PT.

A New UI for Nintendo Switch?

Although there is nothing wrong with the current UI, it sure lacks in a few departments. The UI is extremely minimal and doesn’t really interact with the user. It also does not provide any information about the game when users hover over, which could be a great addition. It also does not let you make folders which could be helpful if you’re one to categorize games based on their genres.

Keeping all the necessary changes and requirements in mind, Reddit user porcorousseauu posted his take at a potential new UI Nintendo can take inspiration from. The Reddit user’s work was developed over time, taking in suggestions and recommendations from the community.

The community was enthusiastic about the user’s idea and the post now has over 13.6K upvotes at the time of writing.
