The video saw its release back in 2016, so Scarlett’s preferences might have changed in the meantime. But when asked what her favorite video game was, the actress chuckles and responds.
“My favorite video game, probably Mario Kart.”
The seminal Nintendo title, Mario Kart, is one of the most popular franchises in the Japanese video game company’s arsenal. The best-selling iteration of the franchise, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, has sold over 38.74 million copies as of 2021 (reporting by Eurogamer)
However, this does not imply that the 2014 Nintendo release is the Marvel actress’ go-to game. Quite anticlimactically, Scarlett didn’t reveal which iteration of the franchise was her favorite, but as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has already seen a release by then, it remains a strong contender.
Significantly, fans have a much more lucid answer to Johansson’s number one character to play as. She mentions that she usually plays as Toad because the mushroom-headed mascot is “so cute”. Shigeru Miyamoto would be proud.

Talking about Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the game recently received a massive boost at February 2022’s Nintendo Direct. The game would receive 48 new tracks as part of its latest paid DLC. It would cost $24.99 to purchase the Booster Course Pass, but it would be free for players with Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.
