“Redfall” is an innovative multiplayer FPS that offers the players a choice between four playable heroes. Choosing a hero will make you stick with them till the end of their respective campaigns. Even if you opt to play co-op, only the host will get to progress the story of their character’s campaign.

That is why it is suggested to try each of the characters before delving into the campaign. It takes around two to three hours to unlock each ability on a particular character. So trying each character and developing a playstyle would be the best bet.

4.  Know Your Heroes

Each of the characters presented in Redfall presents a unique aspect and gameplay. There is no categorization of character, power-wise in the game; it all depends on the player’s taste and choices. Here’s a short guide for each character:

Layla Ellison: If you are more into fast-paced action and love to block and punish your foes, then Layla is your girl! Using her umbrella, she can block incoming projectiles. She can also punish her enemies by throwing it at them as a shield. Her lift power lets her summon a phantom elevator that can help players jump higher. It is very effective while exploring the map, and her perks also boost her attack while lifting off.

With her Ultimate, she can summon her vampire ex-boyfriend, who helps her rip through the hordes of vampires.

Jacob Boyer: Jacob is the one with the bird’s-eye (literally). He is a scout, and his raven lets him detect enemies ahead, and his cloak lets him sneak into areas and collect better intel. In combat, the raven can dish out damage if upgraded properly, and his cloak gives all the participating players time to collect themselves and heal if they are overwhelmed. If you want to be the trailblazer of your squad and provide them with healing in tight situations, then Boyer would be your pick.

Jacob’s ultimate turns his gun into a powerful phantom weapon that shoots a devastating projectile that can also heal him with the same amount of damage that was dealt.

Devinder Crousley: Crousley’s powers are the most versatile among the bunch. With his translocating powers, he teleports all around the map, allowing him to always find better ground than his enemies. It also gives him the power to reach unconventional areas on the map, helping him discover treasures much more easily. Devinder’s Arc Javelin is an area-of-effect attack which is also one of the best AOE attacks in the game.

His ultimate attack creates a large area of effect blasts that hurt all the enemies and, if upgraded, can heal the players in the adjacent area.

Remi de la Rosa: Remi is basically the Beast Master from classic RPG games. Instead of mighty beasts, she has a pet robot called Bribón. Players can use it to create distractions or opportunities for ambushes. Her pet can lure enemies into traps and other characters’ attacks. Remi has the ability to throw C4’s, making some big booms for her team. She can even attach the explosive to Bribón to create a robot suicide bomber. With her ultimate, she can turn her pet into a healing station.

3. Pay attention to the time of the day

Vampires come out in the night; humans come out in the day, simple. So keep your anti-vampire guns and weapons like UV lights, flare guns, and Sawfish (aka stake guns) close at night, and keep your traditional shotguns and rifles prepared for the day.

2. Treasure your rare guns for later

Redfall’s rare weapons are the orange-tiered guns. These are mostly available during the middle and end game, but players will have two chances to get guaranteed orange-tiered guns. We would advise saving these weapons until you are powered up and ready to move on to the next chapter. Remember to head over to Wheeler’s Sporting Goods. It can be identified on the map by looking for the shopping basket icon. You will need lockpicks in this encounter.

 1. Red Mist

During the game, you will encounter some annoying red mist that may make you want to pull out your hair. So, how do you get rid of the red mist in “Redfall”? It’s quite easy actually; it’s barely an inconvenience. Just point your UV gun and blast the statue within the mists. After getting exposed to UV light, the statue can be shattered, dispersing the mist for good.
