Following earlier reports of remakes of fan-favorites like Castlevania, Silent Hill, and the first two games of the Metal Gear Solid franchise, reports suggest Konami have yet another classic lined up for a remake. According to new findings, the developers of the remakes of Metal Gear Solid could plausibly be working on Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater’s return to new PlayStation and Nintendo consoles.

Konami originally launched the 5th edition in the series for PlayStation 2 and Nintendo 3DS in 2004. It’s been six years since the release of a mainline title. Now, revamped versions of some of the most popular games of the franchise is fantastic news for Metal Gear fans.

According to Twitter user, Faizan Shaikh, a Virtuos Studio employee confirmed the developer is working on an “unannounced [triple-A] action adventure game remake’ with ‘[triple-A] quality level art’, 4K graphics and ‘set-piece destruction” as per Unilad.

Marvel’s Avengers: Latest Addition to the Game Has Left Fans Annoyed
Earlier this year, Virtuos Studio, had claimed the Metal Gear Solid license, as per VGC. After the leaks from insiders hinting at a remastered Metal Gear Solid 3, the lead programmer of Virtuos, Zhiyang Li, in his LinkedIn profile confirms the studio’s working on something similar. Li also claimed to be working on the game since October 2018, so an announcement could already be on its way.
Unfortunately, Konami could not showcase its plans for major titles and other announcements this year. The publisher canceled it’s showcasing at some of the biggest events this year; including E3 2021. This was later said to be primarily due to “timing” issues.

Before we get the revamped edition of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater makes its way to the new consoles, fans will have a chance to try out the other remastered versions Virtuous is reportedly working on. The Snake Eater remake will take place over three decades before the happenings in the original Metal Gear.
