Technology Giant Microsoft Declares Their Intentions for Call of Duty Under the Light of $68.7 Activision Blizzard Acquisition Deal

While some welcome the initiative, some do address their concerns regarding it. Lately, something of this sort has been happening around Microsoft’s acquisition deal of Activision-Blizzard.

Technology giant Microsoft has amazed the community with its efforts directed at the betterment of Xbox. Moreover, leading Xbox into becoming one of the best consoles in the industry. However, there have been rising concerns around its intention to acquire Activision-Blizzard. To clarify its stance, Microsoft declared its stance around Call of Duty.

Chiefly, Activision stands as the company backing the popular action-packed franchise title, Call of Duty. Throughout the years, the video game franchise has produced one of the most legendary titles. With meticulous working around heavy machinery and an FPS interface, the game has gifted gamers with a fabulous gaming experience. However, the game title was one of the major concerns around the $68.7 Billion Activision Blizzard deal.

Microsoft has voiced its intentions around Call of Duty ahead of their acquisition deal

To clear the air in the room, Microsoft released a statement about the respective subject. In their statement, the company has addressed the uproaring people’s concerns around them taking away Call of Duty. As reported by the organization VGChartz, Microsoft said, “Microsoft has no intention to take Call of Duty away from gamers and, indeed, it has publicly committed not to do so.” Furthermore, they mention that keeping Call of Duty on PlayStation is “a commercial imperative for the Xbox business and the economics of the Transaction.”

To give a close view of the situation, Microsoft said, “Foreclosure strategies of the type outlined in the Referral Decision would alienate the Call of Duty gamer base and tarnish both the Call of Duty and Xbox brands, undermining the rationale for the Transaction. Microsoft would place at risk significant annual revenue from sales of Call of Duty on PlayStation, as well as substantial revenues from other Xbox games distributed via PlayStation. Microsoft has been clear that it is counting on revenues from the distribution of Activision Blizzard games on Sony PlayStation.”

As stated by Microsoft, they have cleared the room by portraying their intentions regarding Call of Duty and “other Xbox games distributed via PlayStation.” Thus, only the future holds what the deal turns out for the community.
