Games and movies often take inspiration from other pieces of media. But in the case of the Callisto Protocol, there was one more thing that developers took inspiration from, and it might also be a surprise for many.

He said, “Some creatures came from the art perspective, though, like, ‘Hey, let’s just do something that is very crazy looking’. And then we put that in the game and find a way of making it work.”

The character director, Glauco Longhi, further added, referring to the cartoon saying, “Even some cartoons, like SpongeBob. We look at cartoons on the stylisation and movement because, although it’s super real and immersive, we stylised a lot of things to make them more appealing.”

The death animations in Callisto Protocol are winning hearts

The thing that people are finding most appealing about this game is the gory death animations of the protagonist. They are so proud of those death animations that the game’s season pass would come with a DLC that would add more death animations to the game.

And it’s only logical. Gamers love cool death animations. Resident Evil 4, Doom series. and even the Dead Space series had brutal death animations for the main characters. So it’s pretty obvious that to keep it all interesting and original, the game’s designers went in all directions for inspiration. And it seems like it succeeded in its implementation too.
