This new wing will be dedicated to the “development and operation of systems related to the digital part of Nintendo’s business.” Having an infamous reputation in the gaming industry for being comparatively ‘backdated’ in terms of digital segments, the Mario owners are looking forward to developing a much more up-to-date digital ecosystem for their brand.

The reports have revealed this new company’s president is Tetsuya Sasaki, who joined Nintendo in 1995 as a software engineer for its EAD division. Previously Sasaki had contributed to the programming sectors of some of the biggest IPs of Nintendo, such as Legend of Zelda, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, and more.

The company pondered more upon their lack of expertise in the digital aspects of the industry, they stated they are planning to use, “Nintendo’s originality and DeNA’s knowledge of technology as the driving force to create new innovations for the world.” Which most probably will be the main goal of the venture.
