The Legend of Zelda is by far one of the most influential and significant gaming franchises of Nintendo. The storyline of Zelda touches upon very gray characters (except Ganondorf) who make the players think deeply before hating or loving any one of them.

The villains of the Zelda games have been one of the most important and significant aspects of the experience. Most of the villains of the franchise present very interesting perspectives that stand on the line between good and evil. Questioning the player about what they are doing is truly bad or not.

Once Cia was a guardian of the Tri-force. However, her infatuation with Link made her vulnerable to Ganondorf’s influence. With Ganondorf’s power, she was corrupted and tried to attack Princess Zelda to snatch Link away from her. She is one of the most tragic characters of the Zelda franchise, whose love became her downfall. 

2. Vaati 

One of the students of the great Minish sage Ezlo, Vaati is the main antagonist of Legend of Zelda: Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures & The Minish Cap. Belonging to the peace-loving race of the Minish people, Vaati too was an aspirant sorcerer who was corrupted because of a lust for power. So much so that he cursed his own teacher and turned him into a cap.

3. Master Kohga (Breath Of The Wild)

The Sheikah tribe were the engineers of the Hyrule until they were shunned by the kingdom for their own inventions. Being one of the Sheikahs who was exiled, Master Kohga founded his own tribe and swore revenge against the kingdom that made his people suffer so much. 

4. Sooga (Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity)

The loyal bodyguard and companion of Master Kohga, Sooga has never lifted his blade for himself. He fought only to save others and his beloved master. Although his loyalty to his people paints him as an antagonist, Sooga is never seen by the fans as a villain. 

#5  Princess Hilda (A Link Between Worlds)

The parallel counterpart of Zelda. Hilda tried to steal the Tri-Force from Link and Zelda to save her people after her own ancestors decided to destroy it so that it never falls into bad hands. While she started with hostility against Zelda and Link, in the end, they joined forces to restore the tri-force in Hilda’s kingdom to save her people.
