The PlayStation 5 Scarcity is so Bad that Deathloop’s Protagonist Didn’t Have one Until Bethesda Intervened

If you keep up with the ongoings in the world, there’s no way you don’t know how rare it is to get your hands on a PlayStation 5. Sony’s next-generation console has been out of stock since its launch and it looks the same story is going to continue unless someone finds a magical way to overcome the semiconductor shortage in the industry.
On the other hand, those gamers who own their very own PS5 can vouch for its excellence. Game developers have been targeting the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X|S for their new titles. One such title is Bethesda’s Deathloop. The game has had enormous success since its launch earlier this month, meeting the community’s expectations, some might say, even exceeding them.
Unfortunately, Colt’s voice actor, Jason Kelly, wasn’t lucky enough to grab a PS5 on time. But this changed immediately when Pete Hines, Senior Vice President of global marketing at Bethesda, decided to step in.

Hey @Jasonkelley_JK I can probably help find you a PS5 so you can play it. You deserve a chance to play as Colt and enjoy your own amazing performance. 🙂

Limited stock of the PlayStation 5 is no joke
The problem is the same for everyone, no matter how famous you are. Or at least that’s how it seems. A day prior to the launch of Deathloop (launched on September 14, 2021), voice actor Jason Kelly had a special message for the fans. He encouraged fellow “Deathloopers” to try out the game while showing support for his character, Colt, over the antagonist Julianna.

Kelly, performing his “bit”, jokingly asks if anybody could help him get a copy of Deathloop along with a PlayStation 5. To which, Pete Hines replied, “Hey @Jasonkelley_JK I can probably help find you a PS5 so you can play it. You deserve a chance to play as Colt and enjoy your own amazing performance. :-).”
Recently, in an interview with JUMPCAT PLAY, Kelly applauding Hines’ actions said, “I made an announcement, I was doing a bit and said that I didn’t have one and it turns out, I was just notified by Bethesda that a PS5 was made available and is going to be shipped to me, and they’re going to be getting me a game as well.”

Sadly for Xbox owners, Deathloop is only available on the PlayStation 5 and PC for now, and things are expected to stay this way for at least a year even though Microsoft‘s recently took over Bethesda.
