2023’s biggest Xbox release, Starfield, is well on its path to glory, with massive critical and commercial success. In a game that was over a decade in the making, fans had a lot of expectations going into Starfield, especially in terms of the visuals. After all, its setting being primarily in space gives players the opportunity to view some beautiful landscapes, coming across new planets and galaxies in their journey across space.

Once fans got the chance to look at the beautiful universe of Starfield, they could not get enough of it. It impressed them so much that sceneries from the game made the leap outside the limits of an Xbox or a PC into the real world through sheer skill.

The painting shows a lone explorer and a robot set to explore a new planet, against the backdrop of a vivid horizon. What the painting really excels at is summarizing the experience of Starfield on the canvas. Every planet you visit, and every star system you come across, all have this sense of mystery, waiting for players to discover their secrets. The painting has people wanting to jump back into the game for hours, experiencing everything the game has to offer.

The explorer and their companion are reminiscent of a scene from the Hollywood movie, Interstellar. Just like in the movie, in the end, Anne Hathaway’s character and her robot begin exploring a new world, all by themselves.

Will devs give the artist a shoutout?

Once Starfield fans found the painting, they could not stop gushing over the work of the artist. As comments of praise poured in, none would stand out as much as a comparison to legendary painter Bob Ross. Fans dubbed the artist “the Bob Ross of space”. The question is, will Starfield devs give a shoutout to this piece of art?

The idea is not too far-fetched. Bethesda, the developers behind Starfield, have a history of commending people who make game-inspired art. In fact, on the game’s official X account, there are regular updates on artwork fans send in, with different themes in each one. This one, for example, has a character stacking up on sandwiches for that extra boost of energy, something players might find themselves doing in-game.

Bethesda goes on to give artworks such as these ones a shoutout on their X account. It works both ways, as fans get the chance to see what ideas gamers come up with based on the title. The artists get a bigger platform to develop their talent. If LongFineArt does get featured, this will not be their first time being in the spotlight for their work. Their previous paintings always attracted eyes, especially one based on another Bethesda title, Fallout.
