The recent Xbox and Activision Blizzard whopping $68.7 billion acquisition deal has left the entire gaming community stunned. This acquisition deal has opened up a lot of opportunities for the future of gaming. And this has become a hot topic for the fans; the only thing they are thinking right now is: what’s next?
Well, according to recent reports, the Xbox Chief Executive Officer, Phil Spencer, has some massive plans for the future, related to video game development.
The Xbox boss has stated that they’ll be working on some of the most fan-favorite franchises. Phil feels that, after closing this acquisition deal, more resources will be added to boost the company’s capabilities.

In fact, the CEO’s pretty optimistic about working with Activision’s team upon the completion of this deal. Phil has also expressed his excitement regarding Activision Blizzard’s intellectual properties like King’s Quest, Guitar Hero, and more; It is likely some IPs will see a revamp in the future.
Apart from Phil getting excited about Activision’s IPs. He also shared that the Xbox team will have a word with the developers related to working on Activision’s various franchises. It seems like the Xbox CEO and all the developers are excited to work with Activision to ensure the future of gaming is as good as can be.
No doubt, the coming years are going to be huge for Xbox as well as the community, since, at the end of the day, it’s the community who’ll be on the receiving end of Microsoft/Xbox’s products.

Here’s what the CEO said about working on fan-favorite franchises: “We’re hoping that we’ll be able to work with them when the deal closes to make sure we have resources to work on franchises that I love from my childhood, and that the teams really want to get.”

Just a few days back on the 21st of January 2022. Phil also confirmed that after the closure of the acquisition deal, the iconic Call of Duty series won’t become an Xbox exclusive and that this iconic first-person shooter game will remain available on the PlayStation.
