The episode began with Luigi, who was giving his statements in court. He was talking in a quite distinctive manner to depict the Italian roots of the character. The trial of Wario followed this questioning. Elon Musk was dressed in the iconic ‘villainous’ outfit of Mario’s nemesis. He too gave the Italian accent a quick-go to fit the character specifics. Moreover, things took a hilarious turn when it was revealed that Luigi and Princess Peach were having an affair.

The skit serves as an interesting watch especially as the new Super Mario movie is gearing up for its massive release. Although there are very notable changes in both the parody and the movie adaptation.

But Chris Pratt, who plays the protagonist states that there is a robust reason why it was not seen in the trailers. Whereas in the SNL video, this very aspect was ridiculed. Fans still found it a bit awkward hearing the heavy use of slang in the video.
