Now speaking of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Julian portrays a ruthless ultranationalist named Vladimir Makarov. He is the primary antagonist of the Campaign as well. While many people have admired his portrayal as the iconic antagonist, it looks like there have been reports claiming that the game’s cast exclusively engaged in voice acting for the latest title. However, according to Julian’s recent post on X, that is not the case.

While trying to show how much effort goes into playing fan-favorite characters, the actor wrote that he’s not only done voice acting but full performance capture too. In short, whatever is shown on the screen, in-game, is the actor performing himself while also delivering the dialogue. “You’re watching real human acting movement and voice acted out like a play in one live take”, read the post.

It’s important to note that all the recent games in the Call of Duty series have focused on the actual involvement of the cast members. Be it 2019’s rebooted Modern Warfare or its sequels, the actors have been engaged in all aspects of the games.

In contrast, older installments primarily involved artists in voice acting roles but there was no performance capture. However, things have changed now. That’s precisely what Julian has tried to tell through his post.
