Former World No. 5 Eugenie Bouchard is one of the highly talented players on the women’s circuit. Over the past few years, the Canadian starlet has been unable to maintain a consistency that has let her down. However, over the last 15 months, she has registered encouraging results. 

Recently, Eugenie Bouchard was involved in a rapid-fire question and answer session. During the session, she was asked a number of questions, to which the Canadian star was swift to answer. The questions asked were from various topics and did not involve tennis. 

Eugenie Bouchard reveals an alternate choice of career

One such question that caught the ear was her alternate choice of career had it not been for tennis. She gave an interesting answer and revealed, “I would be an air traffic controller.” An air traffic controller is one of the most tedious jobs and even the slightest possible error can be hazardous. It involves individuals being stationed in a control tower and they monitor the position, speed, and altitude of an aircraft. 

Moving onto tennis, Bouchard’s 2014 season was her best performance on Tour. During that season, she reached the semifinal stage at two Grand Slam events, the Australian Open followed by the French Open. Later, she was the finalist at Wimbledon, causing major upsets all the course.

Eugenie Bouchard’s poor form began post-2015

From the following season onwards in 2015, the Canadian player was out of form and could not repeat her splendid performances of the previous year. To add to her woes, she suffered from a concussion at the US Open and was forced to withdraw from tournaments during the season. Since then, her performances have not been up to the mark.

In the current season, the 27-year-old player competed at the Australian Open. Unfortunately, she was unable to go past her second qualifying round match. After that, she was the finalist at the Abierto Zapopan 2021 event. It was her second final in six months. In 2020, Eugenie was the finalist at the Istanbul Cup. She will be seen on the clay courts of Roland Garros later this month.
