The seventh round of the season in France had a major effect on both championships, both the drivers and the constructors. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen saw an increase in the gap to title-rival, Lewis Hamilton.

Furthermore,  the Milton-Keynes-based outfit achieved a double podium at Paul Ricard. As, Verstappen took the win and, his Mexican teammate, Sergio Perez, came third. This result saw the Raging Bulls further extend their gap between rivals, Mercedes.

Max Verstappen increases his lead in the fight for the title

The Dutchman stole the lead from Hamilton in the closing laps of the race. Hence, he earned twenty-six points from the race, earning an extra point as he had the fastest lap, resulting in a twelve-point gap to the Knight.
