Have you ever purchased a poster of a supercar to hang up on the wall of your room and wondered if this car even exists? To mark its 60th anniversary, McLaren has converted one such fantasy car into an actual spec in its collection.

The British car manufacturer unveiled the Solus GT, which sets a new benchmark in the automotive market. The new beast raises the bar on speed, downforce, and even the lap time one can extract when behind the wheel of this car. Remarkably, it is simulation brought to life, as this car was a concept in the virtual-reality racing game, Gran Turismo.

If you are ever lucky to see one of these in person, don’t blink an eye as it will fly past you. The car weighs less than 2204 lbs, but still produces 2645.547 of downforce at full tilt. McLaren claims it to be the closest experience to driving a Formula 1 car.

Moreover, as per, autocar.co.uk, “The wheels are connected via double-wishbone suspension arms front and back, which are encased in aerodynamic carbonfibre shrouds, similar to the approach used in F1.”

The livery features a strip in the middle of the body featuring silica white paint, to emulate its history. Furthermore, the owners of the vehicle get a travel case for the car, intended for when owners are transporting it to events around the globe.

Nevertheless, your dream of ever calling yourself an owner of this machine might face a setback, as McLaren only announced 25 units of this ultra-rare car, priced at north of $3.6 million, which was sold out even before it was launched in the market. Thus, if you are a friend of any one of these 25 privileged individuals, you got yourself a catch.

Specs of the McLaren Gran Turismo-inspired car

From 0 to 62 miles an hour in 2.5sec, that’s how fast the car that weighs under 2204 lbs accelerates. Also, credit to its bespoke seven-speed sequential gearbox which helps it exceed the 200 miles an hour threshold and features a 5.2-liter V10 engine. Notably, first time in a commercial McLaren car that revs all the way to 10,000 rpm while pushing out more than 830bhp and 479lb-ft of torque.

The pilot sits in a centrally mounted, enclosed cabin, which is accessed by a jet plane-type sliding canopy. Inside, a motorsport-style fixed seat awaits, created and molded to suit the individual owner.

Among the 25 proud owners of this high-performance package is the author of Driven: The Never-Give-Up Roadmap to Massive Success, Manny Khoshbin. The CEO of the Khoshbin company shared a glimpse of the car and captioned it by saying, “Say hello to my little friend, fastest McLaren ever outside of a F1 car”

Unfortunately, this rocket ship is not declared road legal. Nonetheless, it changes the landscape in the automotive industry with virtual reality cars being given a heartbeat.
