With no racing for the foreseeable future, F1 drivers have taken to streaming platforms and gaming as a means to pass time. While not all the current drivers on the grid have adapted to Esports, the newer generation seems to love it. Charles Leclerc joined Twitch less than a week ago and he’s taken the streaming platform by storm.
Charles Leclerc jokes about getting Vettel to try Fortnite
Leclerc often streams his gameplay live to thousands of fans every evening and usually plays F1 2019 or Fortnite. While the Monegasque was gaming, a fan asked Leclerc if he could get Sebastian Vettel to try his hand at Fortnite. Leclerc’s answer was quite intriguing.

If you don’t know it already, Sebastian Vettel isn’t exactly hip and happening. The 4 times World Champion prefers staying away from social media and even revealed that he wouldn’t be joining it anytime soon. Seb is more likely to spend his free time with his vintage motorcycle collection or with his loved ones.

It’s unlikely to see the German driver spend his downtime on a console or PC – gaming. Nevertheless, Leclerc answered the question with another question.
“I should try to bring Seb to Fortnite. [I]don’t even know if he has a PlayStation. I don’t think so.” said Leclerc while playing Fortnite on his Twitch channel.
Vettel teaming up with Leclerc in the world of online gaming would surely break the internet. However, the chances of that happening are as good as the season beginning next month.

Leclerc’s first Esports win
Leclerc took a commanding win in his first Esports event. The Monegasque won the Australian Grand Prix in F1’s Virtual Grand Prix Series. Despite being relatively new to Esports, Charles kept a cool head to win down under.
Leclerc isn’t the only driver to take to streaming and sim racing. Alex Albon, George Russell, Lando Norris, and Nicholas Latifi also participate in competitive Esports events.

The second installment of the Virtual Grand Prix Series was less chaotic when compared to the inaugural race in Bahrain. It didn’t quite have all 20 F1 drivers but a healthy mix of competition from varying fields makes for an interesting race.
F1 will hold round 3 of the Virtual Grand Prix at the Shanghai International Circuit to emulate the Chinese Grand Prix.
