Lewis Hamilton and Serena Williams Seek Chelsea FC Takeover Amidst Recent Abramovich Controversy

Well, this is highly unexpected! Sir Lewis Hamilton and Serena Williams have come forward to make a bid for the purchase of Chelsea Football Club. Both athletes have come together and invested in a consortium that is flying to buy the club.

This is highly unexpected news as the Mercedes driver is an Arsenal fan himself. And it is unknown how much the tennis superstar Serena Williams knows about the history of the club. But both of them have decided to give 10 million pounds to the consortium.

The football club has been on sale once its owner Russian Oligarch Roman Abramovich stepped down amid the Ukraine-Russia conflict. The football club has been hearing many offers since then and one of them has been from Hamilton and Williams backed consortium by Martin Broughton.

There was no prior interest shown by either Hamilton or Williams in their pursuit of buying Chelsea. As reported by Sky Sports, it is indeed quite a big statement they had that they have decided to back the British Airways chairman Broughton in the consortium to buy the club.

If the club accepts the bid submitted by Lewis and Serena, then the pair could become part owners of the legendary club. It is reported that the duo was in contact with Martin Broughton for quite a few weeks before the news came out.
