“A Huge Privilege”- Sebastian Vettel Reacts to Joining Aston Martin F1 in 2021

The wait is finally over as Racing Point have finally announced that Sebastian Vettel will be racing under their team for the year 2021. The rumor mill had been working overtime over the course of the last few months since Otmar Szafnauer revealed their interest in signing the 4-time World Champion. A few instances did hint at a closer relationship that had been evolving with Otmar during this period.

While details of his contract haven’t been disclosed, he will be staying with the team for 2021 and beyond.

Earlier Sergio Perez announced that he will be moving out of Racing Point after this season. With Perez out of the frame, Sebastian was declared as Checo’s successor almost immediately.

I am pleased to finally share this exciting news about my future. I’m extremely proud to say that I will become an Aston Martin driver in 2021,” Vettel said.

Sebastian Vettel could be a great asset to the team as they look to transition into a new era under the Aston Martin tag. This could be a huge opportunity for Lance Stroll to learn more from his new teammate with the amount of experience and exposure he brings to the table.

And as far as the team is concerned, they’ll be looking to his expertise to develop the car into a championship-contending machine.
