Lewis Hamilton is one of the most loved and admired personality in the world. He has received accolades globally and one such incident happened last year at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix in 2021 where he was granted the honorary Brazilian citizenship. Amidst all the Good wishes, the Brit also received a very special message.

Last year, the Mercedes driver won podium at Interlagos, and to celebrate it, he choose his childhood idol, Ayrton Senna’s way. Hamilton, on that occasion, wore a helmet giving a tribute to Senna and repeated the gesture of the Brazilian driver making a lap of consecration with the Brazilian flag.

The suggestion by Andre Figueiredo to give homage to Hamilton became a thing this year in June and now he is a citizen of Brazil. Good Wishes are pouring down on Lewis Hamilton from all around the world. But there’s one special message that Hamilton will always cherish.

Team Mercedes has posted a special wish for their star driver on Twitter where Toto Wolff has written, “It is a special moment today for Lewis as he becomes an honorary citizen of Brasil. To be recognised and celebrated by a country that calls Ayrton Senna one of their own is a true measure of Lewis’ incredible achievements…” 

He further added, “both on the asphalt of Interlagos and as an advocate for diversity in our sport. “From each member of the team, Lewis, we are incredibly proud of you. ‘Obrigado’ for what we have achieved together so far and we are excited by what is still to come!”
