Everyone knows about Lewis Hamilton’s struggles and challenges as he climbed up the ladder from karting to Formula 1. His story has inspired thousands in the current generation and will certainly keep doing so for a few more ahead. But it seems that not bowing down to adversities is something that isn’t present in a small amount in the Hamilton gene pool, since there’s another example of extraordinary success in the Hamilton family. And it is none other than the half-brother of the seven-time Formula 1 world champion, Nicolas Hamilton, who currently competes in the British Touring Car Championship.

The British driver was born with cerebral palsy, and thus races with a specially modified car. In a video, posted on Instagram, Nicolas recalls the challenge that was posed before his parents when he was born two months premature and how he overcame it and thereafter continued to promote a brand, Paco Rabanne, that he has partnered with.

Recalling his story, he says, “I was born two months premature, diagnosed with spastic diplegia, a form of cerebral palsy. Now, my parents were told by the doctors that I would never be able to walk. And as you can see, I completely defied the odds of that through hard work, dedication and flat out intensity.”

Nicolas has been racing for over a decade now and has competed in some good competitions. His journey in motorsports has been remarkable since he also joined Channel 4 as a presenter for the 2016 F1 season.

Fans shower their love on the younger Hamilton

Nicolas’s story has been an inspiration to many aspiring to come up in motorsports. While there must be underlying support from Lewis himself, he surely has lived up to his name on his own and made a place for himself.

In the video posted on Instagram, fans showered their love on the 30-year-old, calling him, “Top Lad , Brilliant ambassador for his sport . Nice on Nic,” “absolute legend,” and “Big inspiration! ❤️” Addressing how he fought against the odds, one fan said, “Never let anyone else tell you what you can’t do 🔥🙌❤️”, while the other added, ““Defined the odds inspirational”.
