Last year, the F1 alchemist Adrian Newey confessed that he regrets never building a car for Lewis Hamilton. And with Lewis and Ferrari from 2025 onwards, that looks like a lure like no other. Ferrari was and is everyone’s dream. Enzo Ferrari rightly said, “Ask a child to draw a car and he will draw it red” and if the speed gods play in favor of the LH-Newey-Ferrari dream team, the ’65-year young’ kid will be drawing a red car very soon. Despite the obvious rumor mill, Lewis Hamilton’s Miami confession has added fuel to the fire.

In 2007, Hamilton came very close to working with Newey, but the most successful F1 designers of all time had just left McLaren to join Red Bull. Lewis has stated that he could still take a feel of Adrian’s work even after he left. Cut to 2024, the dream of working together might come true as Adrian (despite the RB17 Hyper-car project and gardening leave) may join the Maranello-based outfit. Asked by media ahead of the Miami Grand Prix how much he would like Newey to join him at Ferrari, Hamilton replied, “Very much.”

Widely grinning, Lewis said, “Adrian’s got such a great history, track record and has just done an amazing job through his career in engaging with teams and the knowledge that he has and I think he would be an amazing addition. I think they’ve already got a great team. They’re already making huge progress, strides forward. Their car is quicker this year.”

He continued, “But yeah, it would be a privilege to work with him. If I was to do a list of people that I’d love to work with, he would absolutely be at the top of it.” And the smile couldn’t help but push LH Army to pray for the best.

Just like Lewis Hamilton, fans cannot contain their excitement

The most successful engineer (Newey), the most successful driver (Hamilton), and the most successful constructor! If this dream team becomes a reality, the F1 fraternity will witness the most historic collaboration. Though it is rumored that Lawrence Stroll-owned Aston Martin is also in the running to woo Mr. Newey, the Ferrari dream for the LH army is the most predominant thought. F1 Twitter went berserk after Lewis Hamilton’s wide smile said what his words couldn’t.

The smile and coy body language became the most telling factor for Lewis Hamilton’s fans to grasp the hints.

Though many consider Lewis an 8time champion already, on paper he is still tied with Michael Schumacher. Can that change at the same place Michael wrote history? A few answers that in the affirmative, especially if Newey comes on board.

While a bunch of superstitious fans were scared to celebrate the possibility of Newey’s arrival.

Others focussed on Lewis Hamilton’s glowing and happy face.

But the bigger emotion that echoed was the fingers crossed type of situation, hoping this concoction works.
