While F2 is all about cutting-edge technology, adrenaline, and fearlessness, just like every other sport these days, the money talks. And Aston Martin’s owner Lawrence Stroll has boatloads of it. Adrian Newey announced his Red Bull exit this week and had been linked to both Aston Martin and Ferrari before officially making the announcement. And now, just days after the exit announcement, he’s spotted with Lawrence Stroll. The cherry on top is that Helmut Marko suggested Aston Martin to be the most likely destination for Newey.

Rumors of Adrian Newey’s Red Bull exit has been circulating around ever since the Christian Horner investigation began as the mastermind was reported to be discontent with the team and the power struggle going on at Red Bull. Earlier this week just before the Miami GP, Red Bull made it official that Adrian Newey will be leaving the team during the first quarter of 2025.

While many including Christian Horner suggest that the aerodynamicist will retire from the sport, Helmut Marko advises that there’s still a chance for Newey to stay in F1 with Aston Martin. As per Motor.es he said, “I think that after a period of reflection, he will have that hunger for races again, and he will be available for another team, and not for us. His strong point has always been to get it right in the regulation changes, and thank God that will happen in 2026. Red is in contrast to dark blue, but I think everything is possible with green.”

Green here is referred to as Aston Martin. And just a day after Helmut Marko made the claim, Adrian Newey was spotted with Lawrence Stroll in the Miami GP paddock. It’s not often we see Aston Martin’s owner on track. Afterall, he’s a very busy man with multiple businesses to take care of. Him being at the Miami GP and meeting Newey does hint to a possible move or at the very least discussions about the same.

Lawrence Stroll is already rumored to have made Adrian Newey an offer of $100 Million to join Aston Martin. Let’s see what the offer is all about and why it might actually turn out to be true.

Lawrence Stroll’s $100 Million offer for Adrian Newey and why it makes sense for the Mastermind

Leo Turrini called Adrian Newey the Lionel Messi of Formula 1. With Newey now being available, everyone would want him to join their team. And Lawrence Stroll, who has the vision to make Aston Martin a championship contender wouldn’t pass on the opportunity to sign arguably the greatest designer in F1. And while Ferrari is suggested as the most likely destination for Newey by many, joining Aston Martin and getting the $100 Million might just be the perfect move before retirement.

Adrian Newey has also talked about designing riad cars after his F1 career and Aston Martin will be a great place to do the same. The Briton already designed the Aston Martin Valkyrie for the team and will be most welcome to make its successors. Also, his prodigy Dan Fallows already moved to Aston Martin last year, and his kind words might’ve convinced Newey to do the same. The contract is believed to be 4 years long and will keep Newey at Aston Martin until the end of the 2029 season.
