After his unceremonious ousting, Daniil Kvyat said Max Verstappen has the seat, but I get to keep the points hopefully. The brutal firing of Daniil came at a time when the Russian driver was performing rather well for Red Bull. The team wanted to demote him in favor of the current reigning world champion, Max Verstappen. While that gamble may have turned out to be a fruitful one for the team, the love is definitely lost as Kvyat gets ready for another inning.

Kvyat, who describes his feelings of harsh demotion and ousting, saying “part of me is still very unhappy with them” is perhaps putting his love for racing ahead of the bad experience he faced at the apex of motorsport. The man is all set to race Lamborghini’s LMDH in the World Endurance Championship and IMSA Sportscar Championship wants to look ahead for “another good run” despite the Austrian team stabbing.

In Track Limits Podcast, Kvyat said, “Of course, I felt really betrayed at the moment. It was a stab in the back. That’s life. Sometimes you get stabbed in the back. It’s normal. There is no point…now it the past. Now I have another good run. I have another good career in racing.”

While the man may want to look forward to adventures, there is a scarlet regret he will always have.

Daniil Kvyat on the biggest regret following post-Red Bull’s snub in favor of Max Verstappen

Being a Ferrari driver is always a driver’s dream. And there hasn’t been one who has been denied the opportunity if it has knocked on their doors. But Kvyat, who wanted to display loyalty towards Red Bull, lost seats on both teams.

“I was performing really well. And I just scored another podium for the team [at the 2016 Chinese Grand Prix] and then at the time I had also a proposal to race for Ferrari to replace Kimi [Raikkonen]. That was going on behind the curtain.” He then moved on to make the shocking revelation.
