Lando Norris has consistently battled for McLaren‘s high aspirations of winning the first championship in 15 years since the team last did so in 2008 with Sir Lewis Hamilton. And while carrying out his responsibilities, he completely demolished drivers like Daniel Ricciardo. The British driver has played a crucial role for the Papaya team over the course of his over five and a half seasons with them. However, it appears that someone else with raging potential can abruptly prove to be an imminent threat to his status.

When driving alongside Carlos Sainz, the British driver was able to demonstrate his potential and put up a fight against the Spanish driver. However, after spending a significant amount of time in this brutal battle, the 23-year-old picked up several strategies that he used while he was paired with the Honey Badger for two seasons. While in 2021, Norris outscored Ricciardo 115 to 160, the gap in season 2022 was 85 points. In other words, Daniel Ricciardo’s confidence has never been safe from Norris,

Ever since the start of this season, specifically after the Austrian Grand Prix, the Mclaren boys have benefited from the upgrades. This has resulted in both of them storming the grid. Despite Piastri’s threat, Norris is still in the lead. But the Melburnian’s important engineering findings already impressed the team. Additionally, Lando Norris said that the 22-year-old has pushed him harder. So does all this mean that Oscar Piastri‘s threat truly makes Norris uncomfortable?

In response to this question, Sky Sports pundit Naomi Schiff has shed light, As per a viral tweet, she believes, “I do think it is a positive for him to have a teammate in the garage next to him that’s quick”

Later, while carrying forward the notion that the Briton would’ve been happier with a teammate like Honey Badger, who was constantly being beaten up by him. However, with Piastri, the threat could last long. She added, “ As much as he might not like it, it’ll be good for him. It’ll be pushing him to pay more attention to detail. And ultimately when you’ve got a driver next to you that’s pushing you, you become a better driver yourself.”

With the impressive performance of pushing even a man who was able to destroy Daniel Ricciardo, one could wonder where the Melburnian got such confidence, and in response, the rookie has responded himself.
