Formula 1 has come to the business end of the 2022 season. With a grand finish in Abu Dhabi, the pinnacle of motorsport bids goodbye to this year’s competition. As Ferrari finished behind champions Red Bull, their driver Charles Leclerc already warned the opposition, especially Max Verstappen, for next year.

Conveying this, Leclerc posted on his official Twitter handle, “2nd in the Driver and Team’s Championship. We did the best race possible and for that I’m happy. Thank you for all the support during the year. We’ll work more than ever to do a further step in the right direction to fight for the championship next year.”

As Red Bull’s Max Verstappen picked up yet another win, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc fought hard to bring some smiles to Ferrari’s garage and their fans. The Monegasque held off Sergio Perez brilliantly before crossing the finish line to keep his P2 in the driver’s standings.

Even though Leclerc had track position over Checo, the battle could have been tight with an extra lap or two. Despite losing out to Red Bull on numerous occasions this season, the last-minute win over Checo and Red Bull proved a lot to the Scuderia. Most importantly, all well that ends well and for Ferrari, it certainly wasn’t the bad ending to their season.

Charles Leclerc’s P2 helped Ferrari in their quest to keep their P2 in the constructors’ championship over Mercedes. Even though the German team had to face Lewis Hamilton’s jeopardy at the very last race of the season, Leclerc’s contribution has put a cushion on the Italian team’s points on the table.

Moreover, Carlos Sainz finished in P4, which further helped the Maranello-based team’s cause. A P2 in the driver’s championship as well as P2 in the constructors’ championship has given Scuderia Ferrari something to take home at the end of the season.
