Toto Wolff wants Max Verstappen to be the replacement for Lewis Hamilton and who can blame him? Max Verstappen has had an amazing racing record with 3 world champion titles already under his belt and Red Bull’s unstable situation has brought about rumors of him wanting to leave the team following Adrian Newey.

While Adrian Newey has left the F1 team, the drivers are still driving the RB20 comfortably, with the small hiccup during the Miami Grand Prix. Toto Wolff has Verstappen within his crosshairs and Red Bull MD does not like this one bit. Oliver Mintzlaff although not always at the paddocks, manages a multitude of Red Bull’s sporting operations. When he found out about Wolff trying to steal Verstappen, he was unhappy about it. Ultimately, Max Verstappen came forth to talk about the issue at hand and dissolve the situation.

After the Miami Grand Prix, Max Verstappen spoke to the Dutch Press that asked him about Mintzlaff’s response to Toto Wolff’s persuasion. To this, Verstappen responded, “Oliver is of course also very busy with other things, he doesn’t just do Formula 1. Oliver is not always there, but he gets to know everything. When he walks around here, he of course also gets questions about it. Ultimately that might be also his role.”

About what Wolff said, the Red Bull driver explained, “But of course much more is happening in the background than what is just said here.” Rumors are one thing and a team’s internal discussions are another. What might be cooking on the surface as rumors might already be discarded by teams like Verstappen moving to another team. He is currently comfortable and even Mintzlaff has a good relationship with him.

Verstappen spoke about Mintzlaff and said, “I talk to him quite a lot. Of course, he has come more into the picture for me since Dietrich Mateschitz died. Before then I already knew that he worked at Red Bull and what he did, but after that time he is more pushed forward and then you automatically have more to do with each other. But that goes very well, we have a very good relationship.”

The questions moved from Max Verstappen’s rumored transfer to Adrian Newey’s quitting the team. and this is what the Red Bull driver had to say.
