The Italian team would stick with veteran Kimi Raikkonen and 27-year-old Antonio Giovinazzi and reserve driver, Robert Kubica. The rumors saw them trying to get Mick Schumacher, and Nico Hulkenberg, but that never came to be.
Raikkonen and Giovinazzi scored 8 points throughout the 2020 season, which saw them finish above Haas, who also run a Ferrari engine. Indeed, seeing the potential of what they can achieve, the Italian team didn’t let go of either of their drivers and hopes for a successful 2021 season.
The team is the third one on the grid to have their launch. Prior to them, F1 saw the launches of Mclaren and Alpha Tauri. If Alfa Romeo can build a car as good it looks, it surely going to give a fight to the top teams.
