British Businessman William Storey, founder of Rich Energy, the energy drinks company, dropped a huge F1 claim recently. Storey’s company has been closely related to F1, previously serving as a title sponsor for Haas Team. After a multi-year contract initially, the two ended their association after a bizarre turn of events in 2019.

He laid out his opinions on the much-debated Abu Dhabi GP controversy. Over two months have passed since the final race but it remains to be a hot topic among F1 enthusiasts. The person at the centre of this controversy is race director Micheal Masi. His decisions during the late safety car period denied Lewis Hamilton his record eighth title.

FIA executive Peter Bayer even hinted at Masi’s replacement recently. The F1 Commission is meeting today in London to discuss the changes recommended by the FIA in the wake of the Abu Dhabi analysis. Possible steps might include reorganizing and expanding the race committee. However, Storey has given his opinion on the same and it is in line with what many Mercedes fans believe.
