After a pretty tough fight from the championship leader Charles Leclerc of Ferrari, it was the Red Bull man who had the last laugh.

The Italian team has been lucky as the Red Bulls suffered three DNFs in three initial races. Had that not been the case, the energy drink-based team would’ve toppled the Italian giants already. After picking up 94 points in the last two races, the Bulls have drastically closed the gap on the Reds.
The Ferraris look to be struggling off late to counter the Red Bulls. If the Italian team needs to step up their game in the coming races to save themselves, Sam Power conveyed in Spotify’s F1 Nation podcast, “They (Ferrari) need to. They can’t be complacent with the advantage they’ve had at the start of the year. That’s now all but evaporated. We’re about to go back to the European season where there will be upgrades on the cars.”

The Red Bulls have been the strongest overall in the United States lately. Talking about this, Power further stated, “Red Bull are really proving to be an unbelievable force now in this championship.” The Austrian team is just six points shy of the Constructor’s Championship tally of the Ferrari.
How is Ferrari struggling against Red Bull?
The Red team lacks the straight-line speed that Red Bull has. Moreover, they also suffer a bit from porpoising. Although, the season started very strongly for the Maranello-based team as they claimed 1-2 in the very first race in Bahrain. Ever since the team picked up seven podium places in ten possible chances. They still lead the Constructor’s Championship with 157 points. However, they only have six points cushion at the top.
As for Charles, this was his fourth appearance on the podium in all five races he took part in. The only race he was out of the podium place was in Italy where he lost his footing to end up in P6. To make a count, Red Bull and Ferrari have shared all the five victories together, with the Austrian team claiming one more than their Italian counterpart.

As it seems, Red Bull Racing probably has rectified its reliability issue. The RB-18s look mighty on the straight lines. Moreover, they don’t suffer much from porpoising.
