The executive director of Alpine, Marcin Budkowski, has stated that he wants to make the team like Ferrari when they were dominating in the 2000s. Budkowski saw the Italian team in all its glory, and he pointed out that it was a privilege to see them when they were dominating at their peak.

The director hopes to bring that knowledge into Alpine and believes he can make the team dominate the sport, just like Ferrari. As Alpine begins their new journey in Formula One, Fernando Alonso will accompany them alongside his new teammate, Esteban Ocon.

Marcin Budkowski said, “It was another time. I was very lucky in my career, I was an engineer, I helped develop the car. Now I’m in a leadership role a lot and I contribute to the performance of the team rather than the car.”

He added, “It is remarkable to have been part of such a successful organization, which has dominated the sport. You remember some things that you used to do well, and that’s clearly something that I take inspiration from now in my role as a team manager, to try to build a team as strong as the one we had back then.”
