The much-awaited update regarding Fernando Alonso is finally here, and it is pretty good news for the F1 community waiting to see the Spaniard back on track after the brief haul.

Recently, Alpine released a worrisome statement regarding their star driver, Alonso, that shook up the entire F1 community. The Spaniard suffered an accident while training on a bike along the Swiss roads.
The rebranded F1 team avoided going in depth into the injuries that struck Alonso. Hence, they stopped with his present health condition. Through social media, Alpine revealed, “Fernando is conscious and well in himself“.

Unfortunately, this left the fans confused over Alonso’s state for almost a day following Alpine’s decision to keep any news regarding his injuries covered for the time being.

Hence, fans had to rely on the rumors to keep themselves updated over the developments surrounding Alonso.

Apparently, while cycling, he collided with a car, leaving him stranded on the road with injuries. Luckily, help arrived on time and carried the two-time world champion to a local hospital.
However, reports claimed that he had suffered significant injuries to the jaw and teeth. Consequently, he had been shifted to a more specialized hospital in Bern, Switzerland for further tests and eventually surgery.

Alpine’s latest update on Fernando Alonso
Alpine had to wait for the test results before releasing a bulletin on Alonso‘s injuries. They clarified that another statement will be released by Friday morning.
True to their word, the much-awaited news has arrived. Furthermore, there is finally good news amid the rising fear of Alonso missing out on the season opener in Bahrain.

The latest statement read: “Following his cycling accident yesterday, Fernando Alonso was kept under observation in hospital in Switzerland. Medics discovered a fracture in his upper jaw and conducted a successful corrective operation.

The attending medical team are satisfied with his progress. Fernando will remain under observation in hospital for further 48 hours. Looking forward. After a few days of complete rest, he will be able to progressively resume training.

We expect him to be fully operational to undertake preparation for the season.”
This is definitely good news for the Alpine F1 team, as they can continue preparing for the upcoming season without much pressure. Considering his pacy recovery, it looks like Alonso will be ready for the winter testing as well.
