Formula 1 doesn’t give second chances. So when that chance comes knocking at your door a second time, you jump at it. Irrespective of the series you’re racing in, you have to be insane to give up an opportunity to race again in Formula 1. Antonio Giovinazzi faces a similar predicament.

Antonio Giovinazzi will partake in FP1 sessions at the Italian and United States Grand Prix in 2022. This means the Italian will get some much-needed laps under his belt. This is significant because he has been out of the sport for almost a year now. Giovinazzi is chuffed at the prospect of getting some V6 track time after an underwhelming Formula E season.

Haas boss Guenther Steiner was full of optimism and acceptance for the Italian. He remarked, “We are happy to welcome Antonio Giovinazzi back to the team for the two outings of FP1.”

With rumors abound that Giovinazzi is in talks with various teams such as Williams and Alpine, Steiner’s enthusiasm to welcome the Italian into the team seems like a hint of sorts.

Giovinazzi throughout his stint at Alfa Romeo was able to hold his ground against a stalwart of Formula 1 such as Kimi Raikkonen and thus, has proven his mettle. It was a shame to see him leave the sport at the end of 2021. However, the silly season of Formula 1 is kicking off. How long before we see the Italian back in our midst?
