Lewis Hamilton makes social media plea on Pride Month

Hamilton is one of the most recognizable personalities in the whole wide world. Naturally, through his exploits on and off the track, he’s been afforded a massive platform in the form of social media. And the Brit always counts on it when it comes to spreading messages that mean a lot to him.

June marks the occasion of Pride Month, culminating on the 28th of June, which is marked as Pride Day every year. Hence, to show solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community, Hamilton shared a message on his Instagram account. He posted a story, captioning it, “Happy Pride month everyone. Let’s celebrate love and push for equality this month and every month of the year.”

Hamilton opens up about LGBTQ+ struggles

Driving social change through action and speech has been the mantra that Lewis Hamilton lives by. In the past, he’s been very vocal about a lot of communities and causes. But the LGBTQ+ community has a special place in the heart of the 38-year-old.

While speaking to The Fast and the Curious podcast, Hamilton said, “I think for me, I’m always saying that we need more empathy and compassion in the world. Everyone. We’re all human beings and there are all of these things that people find challenging in different countries, different governments, people with opinions, social media, and different things.”
