Lando Norris has found a new lease on life since the British GP thanks to McLaren’s upgrades. However, this doesn’t mask the fact that the Woking outfit had a massively struggling start to the season. This was the third year in a row that McLaren had an abysmal start. After the 2023 season’s start, Norris was advised to abandon the then-sinking McLaren ship. However, Norris has never put this thought into consideration. In fact, Norris recently pledged his allegiance to McLaren.

The Brit has been an open critique of McLaren, especially after the first few races in the current season. This is exactly why many advised him to join Red Bull to realize his potential. However, this isn’t an option for Norris as he has pleaded his loyalty to McLaren and even made bold claims as quoted by Sky Sports F1.

I wanna win races with McLaren, I wanna win it in papaya, I wanna win championships. I wanna achieve my success and my goals with McLaren,” proclaimed Norris. Given how the 2023 season started, Lando’s loyalty toward McLaren was certainly questioned. The awful nature of its MCL60 car in the initial few races fueled speculations on whether Norris may want to switch teams to a more competitive team like Red Bull or Ferrari.

Even off-late, as McLaren’s form has overturned with back-to-back podiums, Lando is being hyped to replace a struggling Sergio Perez besides Max Verstappen. Although, the Brit is definitely reaping the rewards of this loyalty towards the Papaya team.

However, finishing on the podium is not the only goal for Lando. McLaren has its plan to do better in motion and they will, sooner rather than later get back to their old self and Norris is welcoming all these changes.
