As time passes and the end of the 2023 season nears, there are a lot of uncertainties that grow with it. More than any it’s the contract situation of Lewis Hamilton. As of now, Hamilton will be out of contract at the end of the 2023 season. The seven-time world champion is yet to put pen to paper to secure and extend his future with Mercedes. However, until that happens there are a lot of teams who would want a driver like Hamilton to represent them. Ferrari is among those many and they have made no secret of it. This is exactly why after their multiple attempts in the past, the Scuderia is throwing the dice again.

As reported on Twitter, because of the lingering uncertainties, Ferrari’s boss Frederic Vasseur is pushing once again. Reports claim Frederic Vasseur made another offer to Hamilton.

However, regardless of the rumor and its credibility, Hamilton is planning to stick with Mercedes. In fact, the contract is in its final stages as the lawyers work out the kinks before Hamilton signs the extension.

Although, Mercedes boss Toto Wolff did reveal this particular contract will have no mention of the lucrative post-retirement ambassadorial role. Which many believe could be a tipping point. However, Hamilton might still end up extending because he made his stance clear in the past.

Ferrari’s offer might be lucrative financially, however, Hamilton is still focused on his elusive eighth championship title. Now, Mercedes is nowhere close to helping Hamilton achieve this feat yet. Although, for now, the Brit is best placed to achieve that despite the current shortcomings.

So keeping that in mind and their extended relationship, the Brit shut all transfer rumors.

Hamilton said, “Mercedes has supported me since I was 13 years old. We had a tough year in 2022 and I’m still here. Regardless of how we do this season, I’m going to stay with the team.”

Well there you have it, Hamilton is a silver arrow through and through (pun intended).

However, this prolonged contract extension saga does raise some eyebrows as doubt creeps in, we’re sure, in many minds.
