Charles Leclerc wants to be focused on racing right now. The contract situations do act like a distraction for a driver. Look at Lewis Hamilton, who now has a manager to handle it for him. The final choice will be Hamilton’s, but the negotiations are done by the manager. However, Charles Leclerc explained that he hasn’t set a deadline to sign a contract yet. Frederic Vasseur and the Monegasque will have the conversation in due time. 

According to express.co.uk, Charles Leclerc said, “No, I haven’t set myself a deadline to deal with this. We will see when the time comes, the discussions have not yet started and I think it is Fred [Vasseur, team principal] who will have to be asked the question. A year and a half left on the contract is still a long time and it is normal that there are no talks in progress.”
