There is a lot of interest in F1 throughout the world. The sport has become one of the most sought-after by the countries as they want to host F1 races for their audiences. Many countries have offered ridiculous amounts of money to host an F1 race and enjoy the spectacle.

Last season, the sport returned to an iconic venue in the Netherlands as it raced in Zandvoort. Although the race might not be as exciting as others, the atmosphere created by the fans was certainly something to behold.

F1 will return to the Netherlands once again this season and there is a chance that we might lose out on an iconic track if the Zandvoort contract is extended. The iconic track in question is a fan favorite and one of the best tracks in the world, Spa-Francorchamps.
Will F1 lose Spa in place of Zandvoort in the future?
As reported by GPBlog, the sport is planning to host 24 to 25 races in the 2025 season. Since so many new countries have shown interest, there is a possibility that Spa might be taken out of the calendar.
Zandvoort circuit head Robert van Overdijk is confident that the track is not in danger of losing its slot.

”That we are on the right track is obvious, but at the same time, we are not going to take any chances. We are one hundred percent a privately financed event, so then all the pieces of the puzzle have to fall together.
“That means we are dependent on our ticket buyers, sponsors, and other partners. It is logical to make a decision after the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix,” said the Zandvoort circuit head.

It is great news for all the Max Verstappen fans in the Netherlands. But it would be a shame to see a track like Spa removed from the calendar altogether. There have been many changes made to the Spa-Francorchamps track this season to improve safety.
But the thrill of going through Eau Rouge will remain for both drivers and fans alike. Hopefully, the sport will accommodate both Spa and Zandvoort on the calendar amidst bringing in new countries. Having Spa on the calendar will only be good news for the sport, even in a 25 race season.
