Apart From World Championship, Ferrari Lays Down eSports Goal Going Into 2023
Can Ferrari ever be great again? The goal certainly is to bring the lost glory back to Maranello, and not settle for even a second anymore. Ferrari’s chief, in a recent conference call with analysts, laid down his target for on-track activities and goals for the booming virtual world. The four-fold strategy laid down by Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna is also focused on Esports.
The F1 games started a little more than two decades ago and every year it draws a lot of crowds. In 2022, Lucas Blakeley of McLaren won the 2022 F1 Esports Championship. Ferrari, having not clinched a title in the real or virtual world, has not been living up to the historic legacy, but things are set to turn around in 2023 with an overhaul and clear-cut goal for all the arenas. Wanting to be the leaders of the virtual world, the goal for the Italian team’s boss highlighted their objective of the same.
During the said call, as quoted by Speedweek.com, Vigna stated his utter displeasure in finishing second at the F1 championships. He said that the runners-up are the first of those who lose. He further stated, “Of course, the goal now has to be not only to be able to take the lead in the World Cup, but also to maintain it until the final.” [Translated using Google]

And adding to the zing for other formats, Vigna said, “We continue down the path in e-sports, with a commitment in three championships: Formula 1, endurance and SRO. We also want to be among the pioneers in the virtual world. This includes working in our simulation center in Maranello, which is also used by the young drivers from the driver academy.”
Ahead of the beginning of the 2023 season, with the most important goal of winning laid out by the CEO, Ferrari has now begun unveiling its beast. One step at a time.
