Today Mercedes-AMG F1 team organized a grand livery launch event at Royal Automobile Club, London. The event was also to commemorate the beginning of their relationship with INEOS. INEOS is a leading British chemical product manufacturer. And known for their presence in sports, fashion and automobile industry. Recently, INEOS and Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport signed a new technical agreement.

Along with Toto Wolff, Jim Ratcliffe was present for the launch of the new livery. Jim is one of the richest men in the UK and CEO, INEOS. The W10 EQ Power+ was presented in the new livery. The W11 EQ Power+ will be launched on the 14th of Feb.

During the QnA session, Toto Wolff talked about the compatibility of Mercedes-Ineos teams. Through their experience in a multi-year partnership for America’s Cup. Replying to his point, Jim appreciated Toto and his team for their America’s Cup collaboration.

And took a subtle jibe at a certain Formula 1 team. Which they had associations during past America’s Cup campaigns.

Jim talked about the solid efforts of Toto’s guys in their collaboration. Mercedes partnered with Ineos team UK for the development of the title-winning boat. Additionally, he said “One formula team that added their engineers to the project. But it didn’t work because of them being ‘arrogant’ and ‘inflated’. Whereas, Merc team had a similar attitude as the Ineos people“.

Mercedes F1-INEOS partnership

INEOS has partnered with Mercedes in their America’s Cup campaigns. And the F1 team provided technical support to the Ineos engineers in the design of the boat It includes performance, aerodynamics, and design.

Notable point is that Haas Automation has been an Ineos sailing UK partner in the past. And Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport and INEOS, are collaborating with Team INEOS and INEOS TEAM UK sailing.

Therefore, a question arises. Which F1 team was he referring to? Haas F1 or someone else?
