The only vows the Formula 1 community expected Carlos Sainz and Isa Hernaez to share this year were wedding vows. If not this year, sometime in the near future. That’s how confident everyone was that theirs was a strong, loving relationship, one that lasted seven years. Lasted being the keyword. Yes, everyone expected to hear wedding bells soon, but instead, we were met with alarm bells announcing that one of F1’s ‘It’ couples had gone their separate ways. Even so, their bond is one that keeps on giving, and this time, Isa honored the last vow she made to Carlos.

When the pair dated, their relationship wasn’t just about them. In those seven years they spent together, they became a part of each other’s families. Maintaining familial relationships means a lot to both of them. So, it adds even more significance that the vow Isa upheld was one Carlos asked her to keep right before a family event.

Isa Hernaez hasn’t broken her promise to Carlos Sainz

This year did come with wedding bells in the Sainz family. But they weren’t for Sainz and Hernaez. Instead, they were for Sainz’s sister, Blanca. The thing is, Carlos and Isa broke up right before the wedding, but they made a vow. They wouldn’t let their split get in the way of what’s more important—a family wedding. At an event before the wedding, Isa said, “[Blanca] is a friend of mine, and she deserves all the prominence this week.” Sainz echoed Isa’s comments and got quite teary-eyed about his sister getting married. He said, “Emotion, isn’t it? For my sister, who deserves it. It is her day, and she is very happy.”

Months later, Hernaez is still holding on to the promise she and Sainz made to each other. They told each other they’d prioritize family, and that’s precisely what Isa did. As a journalist and lifestyle influencer, Hernaez posts all of her everyday trysts on Instagram. Over the weekend, she posted a couple of pictures of herself, captioning them, “Spent Saturday with my family and it makes me so happy 🤍” Oh, wouldn’t Sainz be glad to see this?

Speaking of the Sainz family, despite the split, Isa has maintained a close relationship with all of them. Especially Reyes Vasquez de Castro, Carlos’ mother. Mama Sainz often recognizes and cheers Isa on whenever she posts an update. And this time was no different. Reyes wrote, “😍” Considering how happy Isa is looking in the pictures, Mama Sainz’s comment is quite apt.

In a capsule collection designed for summer, Hernaez created five versatile, multi-purpose wardrobe items that can be worn anytime, anywhere. At the event where she launched the collection, she wore one of her own designs and said, “I have launched a collection, and I am very happy.” She seems to be doing really well for herself, and so is Sainz.
