Aston Martin F1 Respond to Reports of Factory Fire

Formula One is a dangerous sport. Even away from the racetrack, there can be risks. An example of such an incident was with Aston Martin who had a small fire at their factory in Brackley.

The team stated that the fire was in the extraction system of their wind tunnel. Fortunately, the fire was quickly put out. Additionally, there weren’t any reports of staff members getting harmed from the incident.

On Wednesday, there were reports that there was a fire present at the Aston Martin factory in Brackley. The team stated it was in the wind tunnel. But, thankfully the fire was quickly dealt with.

The British team made a statement on Twitter that read, “To those of you asking about reports of an incident at one of our team facilities back in the UK, we can confirm that there was a small fire in the extraction system of our wind tunnel, which was quickly extinguished. Thank you for checking in on us, it means a lot.”

The Stroll-led team had hoped for a decent 2021 season, as they had signed 4-time world champion Sebastian Vettel. However, so far things haven’t gone their way, as a series of lackluster performances sees them occupy the seventh spot in the constructor’s standings with 77 points to their name.

But every cloud has a silver lining; for Aston Martin that was the Azerbaijan GP. Vettel claimed his first podium for the British team by crossing the line in second place.

Now as we head into the final two races of the 2021 championship, Lance Stroll and Vettel hope to pick up maximum points from the upcoming races to improve their standing in the constructors’ standings.
