$100 Million is the salary that Ferrari offered Lewis Hamilton to join them. After all, Hamilton is a 7X champion, and poaching him away from Mercedes would’ve taken something special. But have you ever heard of offering $100 Million to an aerodynamicist? Even NASA wouldn’t pay that to the person responsible for designing a space shuttle. But Adrian Newey is special! Compared to Hamilton’s seven championships, Newey has 12 championships for the cars designed by him. And $100 Million is exactly what Lawrence Stroll is rumored to have offered Adrian Newey.

Rumors of Adrian Newey leaving Red Bull started circling the paddock after the power struggle began at Red Bull, caused by Christian Horner’s investigation. As of yesterday, sources suggest that Adrian Newey has put his Red Bull exit plan in play and informed senior team members about the same. Remember how Toto Wolff always talks about finding performance not being a silver bullet? Adrian Newey is that silver bullet.

Every team on the grid will come flocking for the Red Bull mastermind, with Ferrari and Aston Martin already orbiting the Brit. The Scuderia have been close to signing Newey multiple times in the past but have been unsuccessful. However, they made their latest move last month by offering him a chance to work at Maranello alongside Lewis Hamilton. But what Ferrari is offering isn’t believed to be close to what Lawrence Stroll is rumored to have offered.

Lawrence Stroll is known for his will to win. Whenever the Canadian invests in something, he comes out as the winner. And if he wants to make Aston Martin a championship-winning team, having Adrian Newey will be like a cheat code. Hence, according to Soymotor, who quoted La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Lawrence Stroll has made a giant-sized offer of $100 million to Adrian Newey to join Aston Martin.

Another advantage of signing with Aston Martin would be the fact that Newey wouldn’t have to move countries and get used to Italian culture. The Silverstone-based facility of Astin Martin is just a few miles away from Red Bull’s Milton Keynes-based facility. Yet, it might not be until 2027 that Newey can work with the new team, that he’ll sign with.

Howeverno official communication from the Briton’s side to the team. And even if Newey were to leave, he is contracted with Red Bull until the end of the 2025 season and will have to serve a year of gardening leave, which means he wouldn’t be able to join his new team until the 2027 season.
