Fernando Alonso Wins Coveted Award in GQ Men of the Year 2023

The legend that keeps on growing, is there anything Fernando Alonso isn’t capable of achieving? As it stands, Alonso is capable of anything and everything, and his GQ put its stamp on it as well. The Spaniard, after an incredible resurgence in the world of F1 at the age of 42, kept adding to his long list of achievements and now he has another accolade to call his own, the GQ Man of the Year 2023.

The announcement was made official via GQ’s official Instagram page on 14th November 2023. The Aston Martin man not only achieved new highs for himself he also propelled his team to new heights, both on and off the track. As it turns out his achievements were worthy of the prestigious Man of the Year award by GQ.

His achievements, albeit not up to the mark as per his high standards, still make him worthy of the award. The caption of the post celebrating the Spaniard highlighted that as well. The caption read, “@FernandoAlo_oficial is proving that sometimes second parts are better than the first. At 42 years old, he’s become the sensation of a Formula 1 World Cup that would otherwise have languished under Max Verstappen’s dominance. Alonso, Boss Bottled Award in our GQ Men of the Year 2023 warns: “The priority is to win my third F1 title”

Drivers hardly get a second lease on life in F1. However, has now raised the bar in this aspect as well. Although even a driver as accomplished as Alonso still has some regrets in life.

After winning it all in Formula 1 the Spaniard ventured out and won prestigious races like the 24 Hours of Le Mans and even the World Endurance Championship. After his return to Formula 1, Alonso did not rest and did not let his ambition die down. He has since collected multiple podiums and driven some incredible races, especially after signing with Aston Martin. However, despite all his accolades, achievements, and growing legend, the two-time champion has one regret in his career.

“If I could change something in my career, I would like to become world champion with Ferrari,” said the Spaniard. “We may have had the weaker car, but we still fought for the title until the finale. So if I could change one thing in my career, it would probably be that.”
