The Marina Bay Circuit. A twisty, 19-corner, physically challenging track. With its narrow straights and tight corners, a crash was bound to happen. Qualifying at the Singapore GP saw the first driver fall prey to the track. Who was it? Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll. This season hasn’t been the best for the Canadian driver. After starting the year just weeks after a biking accident, the first race in Bahrain showed positive signs. From there on, it’s been a downhill ‘Stroll’ for Stroll. And the Singapore GP did not help his case.
The best sight we could ask for.

Since the first few races of the season, Stroll has been under immense pressure to perform. Compared to his teammate Fernando Alonso, his performances have been highly underwhelming. Aston has the car to perform. It’s been established this season. But it’s only Alonso who’s been raking in the performances. Watching Lance Stroll make mistake after mistake, Aston fans have been making demands to Lawrence Stroll—Lance’s father and Aston Martin owner—to sack his son.

So what happened at Marina Bay? In the final stages of Q1, when everyone was trying to improve, Stroll looked like he was improving despite being in the elimination zone. Approaching the last corner, he lost grip and crashed into the barriers. It was a big crash, one that dismembered the entire car. Apart from giving the Aston mechanics a tough job to do overnight, he’s also put a $15,000,000 dent in the team’s finances. Needless to say, fans voiced their opinion on Stroll’s seat in Aston Martin.
Lance Stroll did a “Classic Stroll” maneuver in Singapore
After the high-G-force crash, everyone was holding their breaths. Even fans waiting to unleash their criticism of Lance Stroll. It took him some time to radio in and say he was okay. Following this, he was taken to the medical center for a precautionary check-up. But that was all they waited for to unleash their wrath on Stroll. They’ve had enough of the Canadian driver at Aston. They believe he either needs to improve or lose his seat. There’s no in-between. Here’s what they had to say.
Classic Stroll.
