Although the new technical regulations will not kick off until next season, 2021 is still the dawn of a new era for a couple of F1 teams. They are Aston Martin and Alpine, respectively. Both going through a rebrand while also hiring noteworthy former world Champions- Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso.
Aston Martin’s case is more unique since Renault have always had the financial resources to compete with. But the Lawrence Stroll-backed team now has the stability to match their ambition.

“It’s hugely exciting for everyone in the team. In Sebastian, we have a proven four-time World Champion with experience of helping teams become race-winning and championship-contending outfits.
“That’s why he is such an important signing for us. He brings a winning mentality and we will all undoubtedly learn a lot from him on this journey,” said Szafnauer on how he was looking forward to working with Vettel.
Vettel-Stroll an ideal pairing
However, this is not the only reason that Aston Martin hired Vettel. The rationale behind it is the very same behind the team’s current fortunes – Lance Stroll. His billionaire father wishes to see his son hold the World Championship trophy one day.
